The first part of your Kuala Lumpur Tour ends at the Kuala Lumpur Tower. Standing on top of the tower at over 400 meters high is a sight you will never forget: it offers 360 degrees views of the capital, including the Petronas Towers and the city's new icon, the Merdeka 118, currently the second largest skyscraper on Earth.

Then it is time to explore Chinatown and Colonial Kuala Lumpur on foot. As you cross the Klang river, marvel KL’s oldest brick mosque, the Masjid Jamek which stands at the meeting point of the Klang and Gombak rivers, where Kuala Lumpur got its name, meaning 'muddy confluence'. This area is where early Chinese miners settled, making it the birthplace of the city. The area was renames as the River of Life and at nights there's a beautiful light and smoke show above the river, adding to the area's charm and history.

Arriving at Independence Square, you will imeddiately recognize the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. Historically, a national symbol until the Petronas Towers were built, this architectural marvel holds its place as one of Malaysia's most treasured and frequently captured landmarks. Dataran Merdeka (in English Independence Square) is the heart of Malaysia's history and around the square you will some some of the remaining colonial treasures of hte city: the City Theatre, the Tudor-style Royal Selangor Club along with the Textile Museum and the Old Post Office. We highly recommend visiting the KL City Gallery (temporarily closed) at the end of our tour, which is a small, yet interactive museum of KL's history, featuring a huge 2000-square-foot interactive model that vividly portrays Kuala Lumpur's transformation through the ages. As you arrive in Malacca, your journey begins with a guided walking tour around Dutch Square with red-painted buildings reflecting Dutch colonial architecture. This morning you will visit the Batu Caves, home to the annual Thaipusam festival, and it is the most important Tamil sanctuary in Malaysia. It has three main caves featuring temples and Hindu shrines. Its main attraction is the large golden statue of Lord Murugan at the entrance of the 272-stairs rainbow painted staircase up to the shrines. You will get the chance to learn about the life of Lord Murugan and about the Thaipusam celebration as well. You will start the day with an easy tour visiting the Mossy Forest. The Mossy Forest is one of the oldest forests in the country: locals believe it existed in the time of dinosaurs already. Everything is covered in moss, the labyrinth of branches, and a spongy floor with gnarly roots make it look like the land of Avatar. The walk in the forest is on a boardwalk which makes the tour easy and comfortable. After the forest, you will have a few stops along the road (of your choice) and then you it is time to finally see the first tea plantations at the BOH Tea Farm. Cameron Highlands is one of the country’s most fertile agricultural spots, possessing all the right attributes for growing outstanding tea, and is situated over 5,000 feet above sea level on the main mountain range of Malaysia. The true character of BOH’s teas is greatly influenced by the conditions at the tea gardens, namely high altitude, low temperatures, abundant rainfall, and acidic soil. If you're in Cameron Highlands at the right time and if you are excited to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime hiking adventure to discover the world's largest flower, the rafflesia, you have the option to skip the morning tour and join a local guide on a hike to find a blooming rafflesia. These flowers could grow up to a meter in diameter and they bloom for 5-7 days only. The Rafflesia is the world’s largest flower and only blooms for three to five days a year in perfect conditions. At full bloom it is a stunning rich red color, its only drawback being that it gives off an offensive odor not dissimilar to rotting flesh, hence its moniker is the ‘corpse flower’. The Malaysian jungle is one of the few places on Earth where it can be found. The tour takes approximately 2-4 hours. This morning, our Malaysian adventure continues with a visit to Kuala Kangsar, a charming royal town that serves as the residence of the Sultan of Perak. Here, we'll explore the majestic Ubudiah Mosque, renowned for its breathtaking Moorish architecture that seems straight out of Arabian folktales. Marvel at the regal beauty of the Istana Iskandariah, the official residence of the Sultan of Perak, and learn about the town's royal heritage at the Royal Museum. Additionally, we'll have the opportunity to see the first rubber tree planted in Malaysia over 140 years ago, marking a significant milestone in the country's history. To conclude our city tour, we'll visit a local Labu Sayong maker, where skilled artisans craft traditional water storage containers from clay. Witness the intricate process firsthand and learn how these containers not only keep water cold but also help filter it, showcasing the ingenuity of local craftsmanship.

Later on, we head to Taiping, which means eternal peace, and is known as the wettest city in Malaysia. Taiping and both Kuala Sepetang has a lovely local charm that are not fully discovered by international travelers yet. In Taiping we will see a traditional wood roasted coffee factory, we will explore Taiping's historical center, with well-preserved colonial-era buildings and we take a walk in Lake Gardens, which used to be a tin mining ground and later on became one of the oldest public park in Malaysia. Then we will head to a lovely fishing village, called Kuala Sepetang. It is also known as Port Weld, because this tiny coastal village was the first port of British Malaya connecting the tin mines with the first railway in the country. Here we can visit the largest mangrove forest in Malaysia on a boat trip, including a fish farm to see the legendary puffer fish! Later on you will see a charcoal factory where you can learn about the traditional methods of charcoal production and see mangrove wood transformed into charcoal. We'll take a walk along the picturesque Sepetang Riverfront as well.

Before arriving in Penang, you will stop at the Bukit Merah Orangutan Sanctuary. The sanctuary is a well-known orangutan rehabilitation center: it is primarily dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of orangutans, which are native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia and are considered endangered due to habitat loss and illegal wildlife trade. The orangutans live on is island that is accessible by a short boat ride. Their name means "person of the forest" in the Malay language, reflecting their human-like appearance and their preference for a solitary lifestyle in the dense rainforests of Southeast Asia. On your visit to the island, you will learn about these fascinating animals, and you will have the opportunity to see many orangutans up close in a cool concept: the orangutans are living free on the island…it is the people who are inside a cage tunnel!

Your adventure on Penang Island starts with a visit to Penang Hill (also known as Bukit Bendera). Your guide will take you to a popular local spot, where you get the chance to try Malaysia's national dish. The assam laksa is based on a pungent, fishy broth that has a fair whack of tamarind to give it that signature sour flavor.

After lunch it is time to start exploring the UNESCO World Heritage city of Georgetown. In the first part of your tour, you will start exploring the of British Colonial Georgetown. Visit some remarkable sites, such as the iconic Eastern & Oriental Hotel - built by the Sarkies Brothers years before they opened their famed Raffles Hotel in Singapore- Fort Cornwallis, City Hall, Town Hall, and St. George's Anglican Church, while your guide will provide continuous insights into the life of colonial Georgetown.
